About the Role
The General Manager WHS is responsible for providing executive-level leadership for the Company's WHS function. The role builds and enhances the WHS elements of the business by nurturing people and teams, and leads the strategic expansion and improvement of the function.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Leadership: Contribute to the executive leadership team, develop and direct your team, and facilitate their professional development.
* Workplace Health and Safety Management Systems: Ensure consistency of WHS practices, policies, and procedures across the business, oversee the implementation and maintenance of the WHS Management System, and ensure compliance with safety legislation and regulations.
* Communication and Reporting: Produce and present regular reports on WHS and Workers Compensation performance, promote open communication, and ensure the Company builds a solid culture in relation to working practices and processes.
Essential Criteria, Skills, and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in workplace health & safety management or related field.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing WHS projects, management systems, and processes.
* Proficient with business software and analytical tools.
* Demonstrated experience in Safety Management, including risk management, compliance auditing, and development of best practice monitoring systems.
* Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
* Ability to translate a strategic plan into a clear course of action.
* Experience working across multiple Australian states, including familiarity with differing WHS regulations.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated experience of managing a team and excellent people management and leadership skills.

Operations Overview
We operate in various locations, growing walnuts, almonds, and bees in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree, and macadamias, avocados, and mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland. Our shared services teams are located across all sites and offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Griffith.
