Primary objective
To provide financial, budgeting and accounting support services, advice, and education to business units across the Department to
ensure compliance with statutory obligations and assist in achievement of business and corporate goals of Finance and Asset
Services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide quality budget and financial support to budgets and finance team and agency clients in compliance with relevant
legislation and policy.
2. Prepare, monitor and process end of month accruals and adjusting journals.
3. Source and collate relevant data and process DCDD monthly charges to clients using Internal Billing systems and Accounts
Receivable.
4. Prepare and maintain of financial and HR management reports.
1. Perform centralised Corporate Credit Card and Cab-charge verification for DCDD, NT Fleet and Data Centre Services.
2. Reconciling and posting payment, disbursement and overhead allocations.
3. Assist as required to deliver other finance services to divisional clients, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
services.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge and experience in budget processes and systems e.g. cash-flowing, monitoring and forecasting in electronic
environment.
2. Strong finance knowledge and practical experience including demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to investigate and
advise on all finance and accounting issues, e.g. accounts payable, account receivable, ledgers, journals full time equivalents,
taxes and corporate credit cards.
1. Knowledge and experience in preparation of financial reports, e.g. monthly cost centre financial report, FTE report, ad hoc
financial report, budget cash-flows etc.
1. Ability to organise and prioritise workloads to ensure that deadlines are met and that the supply of information to clients is both
timely and accurate.
1. Sound interpersonal, oral and written communications skills including the ability to deal with and negotiate with people from
all levels.
1. Demonstrated competency with spreadsheet packages, word processing and accounting systems, financial management and
reporting systems.
1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practise,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Formal qualifications in Financial Management or equivalent work experience.
