The site operates high‐volume pick, pack and dispatch functions, handling long‐length materials such as aluminium rods and bars. The Role
Shift times: 6am – 2pm. Must be available to work overtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare aluminium surfaces for coating (cleaning, masking, pre‐treatment)
* Operate automated hanging and pulley systems for materials to be loaded into spray machinery, booths and ovens
* Operate powder coating and spray equipment and booths
* Ensure proper mixing and application of paints, coatings, and finishes in accordance with specifications
* Apply coatings evenly to required thickness and finish standards
* Monitor curing ovens and ensure proper bake cycles
* Conduct visual and quality inspections of finished products and apply final end‐of‐line touch‐ups as required
* Inspect finished products for defects such as uneven coating, bubbles or missed areas
* Rework items as required to meet quality standards
* Maintain equipment and ensure spray guns are functioning correctly
* Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets
* Stage finished goods for the despatch team to load for deliveries
* Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Experience Required
* Experience in powder coating or industrial spray painting (preferred)
* Knowledge of aluminium finishing processes
* Previous experience in spray painting or similar trade, with knowledge of spray equipment and coating materials
* Understanding of surface preparation, paint mixing and application techniques
* Ability to operate spray guns and coating equipment
* Strong attention to detail and quality control
* Keen eye for quality and finish – pride in end product
* Physically fit and able to handle manual work
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced manufacturing environment
* Excellent understanding of workplace safety standards
* Happy to get physical – lifting and hands‐on work are part of the job
* A problem‐solver who wants to do the job right, not just fast
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small, hands‐on team
* A positive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed
Advantageous
* Certificate in Surface Finishing, Manufacturing or similar
* Forklift licence
* Experience with automated coating lines
