Job Purpose
and Impact
Reporting to the Site Manager - Crystal Brook, this is a busy, hands-on role in a capacity that would require you to be a hands-on leader with the ability to plan, focus on safety, operational efficiency, people and reliability.
Key Accountabilities
1. Managing storage operations at the origination site, leading operational employees, casuals and contractors.
2. Providing training in key activities onsite including tarping activities, stack building, plant operations i.e. e1, dogs, OBC, rail bins, stackers, small fel, site vehicles, grain sampling both on intake & out-turn (including Throughput programs) etc.;
3. Managing the execution of risk management systems and programs for both EH&S & FSQR and inventory management programs at the site.
4. Ensuring site operates on high efficiency issues (operational expenses control, energy reduction indexes, grain quality control including shrink management);
5. Taking an active role with the maintenance & reliability program for the site;
6. Assisting in the site operation on capital management (CAPEX), including base level improvements projects following standardized specifications and policies.
7. Contributing to talent management, including operational training programs, engagement improvement, performance management and individual development plans;
8. Collaborating with the other Site Supervisors/Regional Operations Manager to align with the business unit plan, looking for plant effectiveness and projects
Qualifications
With a background in Agriculture/Grain operations, you will be a natural hands-on leader and bring in your proven supervisory/training skills and experience. You will have:
9. Ability to supervise employees and administer operational training on Standard Operating Procedures (WI);
10. Ability and desire to learn technical knowledge of grain quality-handling and projects management;
11. Ability to drive and promote a safety culture which aligns with Cargill's values;
12. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
13. An ability to work in a changing work environment focused on reliability and quality;
14. Ability to work in a team environment and travel to the other sites as required;
15. Willingness to work flexible hours when needed to meet customer requirements;
