HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly clients living in their home.
As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church, offering comfort, presence, and hope to those who need it most.
Can you offer a listening ear and a prayerful heart to someone longing to be heard?
We're seeking a pastoral care volunteer to visit a courageous woman living with a palliative diagnosis. A person of deep Christian faith, she finds strength in Scripture, prayer, and open conversations about God. She also loves crafting, chatting about life (and a little politics), and spending time with her beloved Jack Russell, Bella.
Your presence could be the highlight of his fortnight - bringing conversation, connection, and spiritual companionship.
You'll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:
* Support people to meet their spiritual needs
Skills required for this role:
* High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
* Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.
Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements
* 18 years or older
* National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
