Full-time, Ongoing position at Academic Level A.Based at the NSW Police Academy, Goulburn campus.Salary: $95,248 – $112,158 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.Help shape the next generation of policing professionals through high‐quality, student‐centred teaching.The OpportunityThe Associate Lecturer in Policing Studies plays a key role in delivering high‐quality teaching and research within the Associate Degree in Applied Policing based at the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn. You will contribute to preparing students to become operational members of the NSW Police Force through contemporary, integrated, and practice‐aligned education. You will also be part of a research community spanning policing, criminology and cyber-security and behaviour.This position supports the delivery of curriculum across a range of policing topics, including operational policing, investigative practices, criminal law and procedure, road safety, professional ethics, community policing, and leadership. You will also participate in curriculum development, ensuring teaching is aligned with current industry standards and evidence‐based practice.Working within the School of Social Sciences, you will engage collaboratively with colleagues, the NSW Police Force, and key stakeholders across the program. This role requires maintaining strong professional relationships, participating in industry training, and contributing to the ongoing development of a supportive learning environment.What Success Looks Like:Deliver responsive, high‐quality, student‐centred learning across face‐to‐face and online modes.Support students through timely, constructive feedback and active engagement.Contribute to ongoing curriculum development and refinement with academic colleagues.Maintain strong professional relationships with NSW Police Force and industry partners.Develop collaborative and high-quality research.Actively participate in School governance, administration, and team‐based initiatives.Please refer to the Position Description for full details.About YouA Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.Strong contemporary knowledge of policing practices through professional or scholarly experience.Demonstrated ability to facilitate learning in diverse settings using innovative and digital methods.Capable of delivering an integrated policing curriculum (excluding weapons and officer safety training).Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship‐building skills.Pre-Employment RequirementsSuccessful applicants will be required to:Complete and obtain approval via the NSW Police Force Professional Suitability Application Form, andObtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance, as required by the NSW Police Academy.These are mandatory conditions to be considered for these roles, as required by the NSW Police Force.RelocationRelocation assistance may be offered on a case-by-case basis in alignment with Western Sydney University's Relocation Assistance Upon Appointment Policy.
