The role of Senior Mechanical Engineer sits within the QGC Midstream Engineering department providing engineering support and assurance activities to Operations, Maintenance and Projects for the Midstream Asset.

What you'll be doing
Advise on findings from condition monitoring surveys and Risk Based Inspections (e.g., pressure vessel integrity, vibration, oil analysis).
Provide mechanical engineering input for operational queries and technical assurance in Management of Change (Mo C) activities.
Support Operations and Maintenance in resolving short-term threats and opportunities, including incident investigations.
Prioritize and close actions from systems like Engineering Investigation Requests (EIR), Sphera, and MTO.
Evaluate, prepare, and review mechanical modifications and equipment specifications for projects by internal/external teams.
Process deferrals for Safety Critical Maintenance and assist in commissioning activities for mechanical changes.
Monitor technology advances to optimise plant integrity, safety, reliability, cost, and performance of Midstream facilities.
Provide onsite support during Turnarounds and outages, and oversee outsourced mechanical work scopes.
Ensure HSSE compliance, apply standards rigorously, and intervene when compromised; lead by example in safety and ethics.
Coach teams and individuals to leverage strengths and deliver business goals while contributing to post‑implementation reviews.
What you bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Professional Engineering Qualification in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in LNG Assets, Maintenance, or Engineering; RPEQ Registered/Chartered Mechanical Engineer level (or working towards).
Strong technical knowledge of processes, tools, and systems, plus proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo.
Demonstrated experience in a Senior Mechanical Engineer role, involving supporting operating assets and providing frontline day‑to‑day support for operating asset.
Leadership and people development skills, including experience in coaching, leading, and supporting Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with proven capability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Analytical and problem‑solving expertise to deliver effective engineering solutions and drive continuous improvement.
