About The Role
The AEMO Operations Division is responsible for ensuring continued secure efficient operation of the National Electricity Market (NEM) while enabling the transition of the power system towards 100% renewables.
In this newly created role, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for developing, updating and maintaining the procedures that AEMO follow in carrying out the operation of electricity systems and markets.
What You Will Be Doing
* Leadership and day-to-day oversight and coordination of procedure updates, including support and development of staff across AEMO teams, and assisting with them with the successful delivery of projects.
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the required procedure changes consistent with the National Electricity Rules (NER) and National Energy Retail Rules (NERR).
* Provide status and compliance reporting on procedure updates on a regular basis.
* Develop and maintain a procedure library, that supports identification of procedures relating to AEMO's various functions.
* Represent AEMO in a range of external forums.
What You Will Bring To The Role
* Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline.
* Significant experience in the energy industry or industry in a similarly regulated market.
* Demonstrated experience in advocating, negotiating and influencing outcomes in a complex technical/commercial/political environment – often without direct policy guidance or precedents.
* Demonstrated communication skills and experience in giving presentations, and in producing effective written communications for internal and external parties. Document management and technical writing experience preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and managing a diverse geographically dispersed team.
