Are you a skilled Contracts Specialist with experience in tendering, resolving contract departures and negotiating on complex projects?
**About the Role**:
As a Specialist - Contracts, you will play a crucial role in planning, developing, and establishing contracts for the procurement of goods, works, and services, including capital works projects. This position requires an individual with extensive contracting experience, capable of issuing formal bid invitations, resolving commercial contract departures, and negotiating complex major works and services projects.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop procurement plans for critical or high-risk non-works contracts.
- Prepare documentation for calling quotations and tenders.
- Assess and evaluate quotations and tenders, resolving commercial and contractual issues.
- Prepare recommendations for acceptance of quotations and tenders.
- Liaise with internal customers, suppliers, and contractors on contractual issues.
- Provide negotiation strategies for contracts and participate in negotiations as required.
- Provide a comprehensive procurement service for assigned capital works projects.
- Utilise e-Procurement/SRM for managing projects and bid documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
**Skills, Attributes and Qualifications**:
- Substantial experience in issuing formal bid invitations and resolving commercial contract departures.
- Degree level qualification in relevant discipline or tertiary qualifications with extensive experience.
- More than 7 years' experience in procurement and contracting.
- Extensive knowledge of contract law and contract development.
- Good written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrable negotiating skills.
- Experience in public sector procurement, well regarded.
- Working knowledge of relevant statutes and legislation.
- Experience in policy and training development.
