What's the role?
At News Corp Australia, we tell the nation's most important stories - including the story of our own environmental and social impact. As Sustainability Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our sustainability strategy, with a strong focus on climate reporting, emissions reduction initiatives, and embedding sustainability capability across the business.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, this role will lead the day-to-day delivery of News Corp Australia's sustainability program. You'll partner closely with teams across Finance, Risk, Procurement, Operations and Production to ensure sustainability initiatives are commercially sound, operationally effective and aligned to global News Corp ambitions.
This is a highly visible role offering breadth, autonomy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact across one of Australia's leading media organisations.
Responsibilities
* Lead the annual sustainability and climate reporting cycle, including disclosures aligned to AASB S2 and ASRS requirements
* Own and manage the organisation's Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas inventory, including operation of the Watershed platform
* Drive decarbonisation initiatives across the business, including energy efficiency, electrification and renewable energy projects
* Manage climate-related risks and opportunities (CRROs) that impact the business, working closely with business leads
* Partner with internal stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Procurement and Operations to strengthen sustainability data, controls and reporting processes
* Support the development and tracking of emissions reduction targets, ESG priorities and sustainability KPIs
* Lead supplier sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives, including emissions data collection and modern slavery risk management
Who are you?
* You have 4-7 years of experience in sustainability, climate, ESG or environmental roles, either in-house, consulting or both
* You bring strong knowledge of climate reporting frameworks such as AASB S2, ISSB, TCFD or similar
* You have hands‐on experience managing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions inventories and understand the GHG Protocol
* You're commercially minded and able to build practical business cases for sustainability initiatives
* You are a confident communicator who can influence and engage stakeholders across different business areas
* You are highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
