About the Role
We're on the lookout for a Junior CAD Designer to support our Design Director in creating and refining our 3D printed product range. This is a hands-on role for someone with experience using Fusion 360, who wants to be part of the product development process from concept through to real-world prototypes.
You'll be working on real products that get used by tradies around the world — designing, updating, prepping files for print, and collaborating closely with our design and production team.
This is a casual subcontractor role (ABN required), with flexible, full-time hours and immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Create 3D models for new product designs in Fusion 360
* Modify existing product files based on feedback or testing
* Maintain organised digital folders, files, and version history
* Record design notes, dimensions, and revision logs
* Identify printability issues and make basic design improvements
* Assist with physical prototypes and print testing when needed
* Provide support to the Design Director during development cycles
What We're Looking For
* Proficient in Fusion 360 (you must have prior experience and confidence in using it for professional or personal use)
* Good understanding of design concepts and principals
* Understanding of design-for-print constraints (e.g. tolerances, overhangs, supports)
* Great attention to detail and accuracy
* Organised with files and naming conventions
* Takes direction well and asks questions when unsure
* Self-motivated, proactive, and keen to learn
* Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks
* Must have or be willing to get an ABN
Bonus Points (Not Essential)
* Interest in tools, construction, or solving practical user problems
* Experience in a start-up, design studio, or fast-paced creative environment
* Relevant qualification in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering or similar field
