This is a leadership role that combines deep policy expertise with the ability to cultivate influential relationships across the political and regulatory landscape.
The successful candidate will lead the strategy and team responsible for executing BHP's integrated policy, political engagement and campaign program in support of WAIO and Nickel West.
They will be responsible for developing and executing BHP's public policy and government relations strategy within Western Australia ensuring alignment with Asset and organisational priorities across both state and national contexts.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and analysing political, policy and regulatory developments to anticipate risk and opportunity, and translating insights into strategic advocacy and campaign planning.
The role also involves building and maintaining trusted, influential relationships with political stakeholders, government officials, and policy influencers at state and national levels.
Representing BHP in high-level political and policy forums, advocating for outcomes that support long-term business success and social value creation.
Additionally, the successful candidate will provide strategic advice and counsel to Asset leadership on political, policy and regulatory matters, supporting informed decision-making and risk management.
Leading and coaching the Public Policy and Government Relations team in WA fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional development.
