Layla Brisbane marks the first venture north from Shane Delia, bringing with him a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences embedded in an inventive approach to spice. Celebrated for his bold, Middle Eastern flavours, Shane's unique culinary vision and dedication to quality have made his flagship restaurant Maha a fixture of Melbourne's dining scene for the past 17 years, and extends to his other beloved Melbourne venues Maha North, Maha East, and Jayda.

The successful applicant will be responsible for working as part of the Layla Brisbane kitchen brigade to create amazing food in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Assist and support the Head Chef.
* Assist with the planning of menus and meals.
* Preparation and service of food for the restaurant and functions.
* Supervise other Chefs and kitchen staff.
* Offer guidance to Kitchen staff in relation to the preparation, cooking and presentation of different foods.
* Assist the Head Chef to implement and maintain food safety and work health and safety standards in the kitchen.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery essential
* Previous leadership experience in a premium or hatted restaurant environment essential
* A good knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
* Excellent knowledge of traditional and modern cooking
In addition to the above criteria, attention to detail, a customer focus, high levels of energy, willingness to work flexible hours across a 6 day roster (which includes evening and weekend work) and a positive 'can do' attitude, is what is required to successfully undertake this position.
