Environmental Offsets Team Leader (On-Ground Delivery)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Environmental Offsets Team Lead to take charge of an on-ground field team delivering restoration and offset works across Southeast Queensland.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors and leading by example.
You'll be responsible for day-to-day supervision of a small crew carrying out activities such as native planting, weed control, fire management, and erosion control, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You'll work closely with Project Managers and Ecologists to bring restoration plans to life and deliver measurable ecological outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and work alongside a small team undertaking on-ground restoration and offset works.
Carry out and oversee:
Native tree and shrub planting
Weed control (chemical and manual methods)
Site preparation and maintenance
Fire management and back burning
Erosion and sediment control
Ensure all tasks are performed safely, on time, and to specification.
Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order.
Record field data and complete daily work reports.
Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and site conditions.
Promote a positive and safe team culture.
About You
You're a practical, reliable leader who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and takes pride in achieving high-quality environmental outcomes.
You're organized, safety-focused, and comfortable managing a small crew in the field.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven experience leading or supervising field staff in environmental restoration, bush regeneration, or land management.
Strong knowledge of native vegetation, weed species, and control techniques.
Competent in the safe use of herbicides and small plant/equipment (brush cutters, chainsaws, pumps, sprayers, etc.).
Current manual driver's licence (4WD experience).
White Card and Chemical Accreditation (ACDC or equivalent).
Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
Experience in large-scale, land and/or farm management.
Experience in fire management, erosion control, or monitoring of restoration works.
First Aid Certificate.
Experience in Forestry planting and site management.
Experience working on environmental offset projects.
