Responsibilities
* Utilise your arboriculture expertise to assess and manage tree works compliance across the Central Coast

* Conduct arboricultural assessments, address customer requests, and ensure compliance with policies and legislation related to tree management. Your efforts will contribute to public safety and the conservation of natural resources.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* an AQF Level 5 qualification in Arboriculture - Diploma in Arboriculture with significant experience in tree assessment and management, combined with ongoing professional development
* a qualification in an industry recognised tree risk methodology (e.g. TRAQ, QTRA, Valid)
* a current Class C Drivers Licence
* experience in the identification and assessment of trees relating to tree health, structure, and risk through the application of appropriate industry standards and practices
* demonstrated knowledge and experience in specifying tree maintenance works and undertaking audits of work during and following completion, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies and procedures
* demonstrated experience in the gathering of evidence for unauthorised tree works and providing technical support in compliance matters
* an understanding of the Local Government Act, State Environmental Planning Policy (Biodiversity and Conservation) 2021, Local Environment Plans (LEPs) and Development Control Plans (DCP) and its relation to tree management and protection
About the Role
The Tree Risk Management Officer plays a critical role in implementing, assessing, and managing the Council's tree assets. This position requires a proactive approach to tree risk management and the ability to provide expert advice to both internal and external customers.
Other Information
* This position has a salary range of $83.2k to $96.4k per year plus 12% superannuation. A market loading payment may be applied to this role for the right candidate based on skills and experience.
* We have a permanent full-time role available.
* This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
* We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role
* This role is located at Council's Long Jetty Depot.
