About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Thrift Shop Manager! You will assist the Thrift Shop manager to lead and develop the stores to maximise profits and strengthen links between thrift shops and Corps.
Responsibilities include
- Maximise sales and revenue through processing of donations to the store by receiving and disposal of non-saleable goods
- Deliver excellence in customer service by responding to customer needs, training staff in best practice customer service
- Support in the recruitment, maintenance and direction of an excellent volunteer/employee force that run the store efficiently
- Supervise volunteers
- Ensure all staff and volunteer records are updated and maintained in relevant database or file
- Lead a safe workplace through the ongoing promotion of work health and safety standards
This is a fixed-term part-time position, contracted for 12 months,13 hours per week, based in Bellarine Highway Op Shop in Moolap, VIC.
What you will have
- Certificate in Retail Operations/Diploma of Business _(desirable)_
- Certificate level qualification in Retail Management _(desirable)_
- Experience in team management _(essential)_
- Merchandising and store presentation skills
- Experience managing stock
- Retail management experience_ (highly desirable)_
- Experience working and managing volunteers_ (preferred)_
- Basic working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of time
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight
- Physical ability to climb ladders
- A current VIC Driver's Licence
