We're Hiring: Storyboard Artist (Contract)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Cremorne, Melbourne)
Contract: July – December 2025
We're a tight-knit creative team working on an exciting 2D animated series for kids — and we’re looking for Storyboard Artists to join us!
Previous work in animated children’s television is highly desirable; the ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously while responding promptly to direction and feedback.
What You’ll Do:
- Translate scripts and direction into clear, engaging boards which adhere to established processes and standards.
- Time your sequences in Storyboard Pro based on direction and elements (natpause, key music) provided
- Apply series guidelines for blocking, camera movement, staging, and composition.
- Collaborate with the Director and Design team to ensure visual consistency and maintain the show’s tone.
- Proactively identify potential narrative or technical issues and communicate them to the Director.
- Implement notes and revisions, throughout rough and clean board passes.
- Contribute creatively by suggesting visual gags, character expressions, or action beats that enhance storytelling.
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years’ experience in 2D storyboarding, children’s television a strong plus.
- Outstanding drawing ability and a deep understanding of staging, timing, and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency in Storyboard Pro.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
- Someone organised and dependable, able to manage workload effectively and deliver work on time.
- A warm sense of humour and an understanding of what resonates with young audiences.
