Come and join our growing development team on the Sunshine Coast
We're BFX Furniture: Australian-owned, established since 1987, and we're actively investing in modernising the systems that run a real manufacturing and logistics business. You'll be building software that gets used every day by people who make, move and sell real products.
About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level Software Developer (.NET / Magento / PHP) to join our internal development team. This role suits someone who is solid in .NET and keen to broaden their skills, or someone who is strong in Magento/PHP and comfortable working across both the website and internal systems.
Our environment includes:
Internal business systems and integrations (including ERP related work)
Public facing web platforms, including our Wordpress & Magento based website
Azure hosted services and APIs
Modern AI-assisted dev tools: GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT & other tools to help you
This is an onsite position based at our Head Office in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast. The role requires working in the office Monday to Friday, five days per week. Applicants who are currently based in, or willing to relocate to, the local area are strongly encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain software solutions using C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, MVC, Azure Functions, Entity Framework)
Build and integrate RESTful APIs connecting business systems and web platforms
Work with SQL Servers (MSSQL / MYSQL) including query and performance optimisation
Contribute to our Magento/PHP website, improving features, performance and reliability (new functionality, maintenance, troubleshooting)
Support CI/CD and release workflows using Azure DevOps/GitHub
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to translate real operational needs into reliable software
Your Experience
We are ideally seeking a minimum of 3 years experience but are flexible depending on capability
Key skills (one of these strong, the other of interest):
.NET development (C#, ASP.NET Core/MVC), plus general web fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JS)
Magento/PHP development and practical experience maintaining/optimising an eCommerce site
Nice to have
Azure exposure (Functions, app services, integrations)
Caching/CDN tools (Fastly/Varnish)
Monitoring or delivery tooling (New Relic, Buddy)
Why you'll like it here
Work that matters: You'll work on ERP integrations, internal systems and customer-facing platforms. Changes go live and get used quickly.
A mix of technologies: Primarily .NET, with meaningful opportunities to contribute to our Magento/PHP website if you have those skills (or want to build them).
Practical cloud and delivery: Azure, APIs and CI/CD are part of how we build and release, with a focus on steady improvement rather than constant rewrites.
Real performance work: You'll see caching/CDN and optimisation tasks as part of keeping systems fast and reliable.
Sunshine Coast location: Light, modern offices in Yandina, about 20 minutes from the beach.
Established and growing: We've been operating since 1987 and continue to grow, offering stability with ongoing projects and improvement work.
Ready to Apply?
If you're a passionate developer who wants to create meaningful systems — and enjoy a great lifestyle while doing it — we'd love to hear from you. Please apply via SEEK with your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and what interests you about this role.
Note: You will also need to be living on the Sunshine Coast as you'll be located in our office along with our existing team. Our interview process will ask for you to attend in person at our offices at Yandina.
