We are seeking an experienced Technology Architect to lead the design, development, and strategic direction of infrastructure capabilities across facilities, storage, compute, network, and enabling platforms. This role requires a forward-thinking professional who can monitor emerging technologies, drive innovation, and ensure architectural integrity in alignment with organisational goals and best practices.
Your new role
* Define, develop, and lead the vision, strategy, target state, roadmap, and decision support for infrastructure capabilities.
* Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders, contributing to strategic planning and ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost optimisation, and industry best practices.
* Collaborate with Subject-Matter Experts to achieve organisational outcomes.
* Design, develop, and lead the creation of architectural artefacts.
* Extend and enhance technology architecture frameworks and governance processes.
* Ensure design assurance, fit-for-purpose integration, and adherence to architectural principles and standards.
* Drive innovation across technology platforms and processes.
* Transfer skills and knowledge to staff, ensuring documentation complies with organisational recordkeeping policies
Deliverables
* Design reviews and assurance documentation.
* Project architecture artefacts (solution outlines, system and security architecture documentation).
* Architectural decision records.
* End-state architecture definitions and roadmaps.
* Reference architectures and solution outlines.
What you'll need to succeed
* Emerging Technology Monitoring (Level 6): I can spot new tech trends, assess risks/opportunities, and build roadmaps.
* Information Security (Level 3): I apply security controls, assess risks, and support investigations when needed.
* Innovation (Level 5): I manage innovation pipelines, motivate teams, and turn creative ideas into real outcomes.
* Solution Architecture (Level 4): I design solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and align with enterprise standards.
* Specialist Advice (Level 5): I provide expert guidance, consolidate knowledge, and share insights across the organisation.
* Systems Design (Level 5): I design complex systems, balance requirements, and manage risks effectively.
* Consultancy (Level 6): I manage consultancy services and maintain strong client relationships.
* Enterprise & Business Architecture (Level 5): I create models and strategies to improve business performance.
* Network Design (Level 6): I lead network design covering connectivity, security, and resilience.
* Requirements Definition & Management (Level 4): I define, prioritise, and trace requirements for medium-complexity initiatives.
* You must be an Australian citizen with at least NV1 security clearance
* The role is based in Canberra, ACT with hybrid work options.
