We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Supervisor - FIFO to join a major resources project team for an initial 6-month assignment.

Hourly rate: $95 - $110 p/h + Super depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to join a major iron ore project in Western Australia's Pilbara region. This is a hands-on FIFO role suited to a strong leader with deep electrical commissioning experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
You will play a critical role in the safe commissioning, testing, energisation, and handover of electrical systems, working closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams on site.
The Role
Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for leading electrical commissioning activities across HV and LV systems, ensuring all works are completed safely, compliantly, and in line with project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate electrical commissioning activities aligned with construction schedules
* Lead and supervise electricians, commissioning technicians, and subcontractors
* Review electrical drawings, specifications, and commissioning procedures
* Oversee pre-commissioning checks, testing, energisation, and system handover
* Commission HV/LV systems including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, substations, and control panels
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical and commissioning issues
* Ensure strict compliance with site HSE requirements, electrical safety standards, and permit systems
* Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture
* Prepare commissioning documentation, test reports, and handover packages
Essential Skills & Experience
* Electrical Trade Certificate or Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Current WA Electrical Licence
* Strong background in electrical commissioning within iron ore, mining, or heavy industry
* Proven leadership experience in FIFO environments
* Excellent understanding of Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS 3000)
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams
* High focus on safety, quality, and compliance
* HV Switching Ticket - desirable
* Prior experience on large-scale mining infrastructure or greenfield projects - desirable
