Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia (BMSA) is a market leader in the OTR (Off the Road) Tyre industry and is renowned for its global reputation for quality products, continuous improvement, and cutting-edge application of technology.
This role is an Otraco branded position: Otraco (a subsidiary of BMSA) is a world-leading provider of Earthmover & Off-road tyre management services to the mining industry.
We have an immediate opportunity for an astute & proactive Senior HR Advisor reporting to the Sydney-based Manager People, Culture & Governance. Act as 2IC to the Manager People, Culture & Governance.
This role is based in Western Australia (Kewdale in Perth) and will collaborate across the combined BMSA/Otraco workforce. The predominant focus is on Otraco's 500+ headcount in WA, NSW, and QLD.
THE ROLE
* Provide proactive HR generalist advice & guidance to business leaders within Otraco
* Guide, coach & mentor HR team & business managers
* Support the implementation of standardised processes with PC&G, Talent, OD & L&D
* Provide timely ER / IR support
* Facilitate Performance & Reward, Employment & Industrial Relations, & Organisation Effectiveness
* Manage workers' compensation & injury cases with HSEQ & PC&G Manager
* Act as point of escalation for payroll issues, union queries & dispute handling
* Support disciplinary investigations, dispute resolution & matters at Fair Work Commission
* Develop HR Dashboard of key people metrics with Manager PC&G
* Maintain policies, procedures & governance framework relevance
* Identify & facilitate business improvement initiatives
ABOUT YOU
This role requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, clear communication, and high organisational capabilities. Flexibility is essential due to changing demands. Ideally, you will possess:
* 5-7 years experience in a senior influencing role, preferably with a mining background
* Practical experience supporting salaried & award/EA-based workforces
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline (Humanities, Business/Commerce, Law, Psychology)
* Excellent communication & presentation skills
* Understanding of HR policies & procedures
* Strong time management & ability to handle conflicting priorities
* Autonomy, integrity, confidentiality
* Experience with Fair Work Commission representation (desirable)
* Experience supporting HRIS system implementation (desirable)
