Steel Mains is Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of complete steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater, offering a total solution approach to its customers.
We are seeking a HSE Coordinator to join our Kwinana team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role will provide support in the day-to-day management of the HSE activities of our Kwinana Manufacturing operations.
This role will suit a hands-on, team-orientated, practical thinking and self-motivated individual that would like to pursue an HSE career in the Manufacturing environment. Tailored on the job training and support is available for the successful individual.
The successful candidate must be able to work varying shift timing depending on operational requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in the utilisation of company HSE databases and systems
Assist in completion of audits to ensure compliance with internal system and legal obligations and requirements
Report any unsafe or unsatisfactory conditions or practices
Identify and report any internal system non-conformance and any opportunities for improvement
Assist with the establishment, maintenance, and execution of the annual training plan for site HSE activities
Assist with record keeping of employee & contractor training, competency assessments, skills & qualifications
Induction of new employees and contractors where required
Assist in the investigation of all incidents or near misses
Monthly HSE statistic reporting and analysis
Assist in general industrial hygiene monitoring for the site
Assist and support site Safety Committee and participate in various HSE meetings
Maintain site Hazards Register and HSE Action plans to assist continuous improvement of site HSE
Support the development and implementation of new HSE programs and training initiatives
Assist in achieving HSE compliance by undertaking administrative tasks as required
What you will bring to the team
Experience in the blue-collar sector (manufacturing, construction, logistics, or related fields)
A passion for safety
Positive attitude, willingness to learn and work with others in a team environment to achieve the team's goals
Able to work autonomously
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Be a confident user of different software's and database systems
Have well-developed and solid skills with MS Office Suite
