About the Role
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Branch Operations Manager will provide operational leadership at our Blackburn Branch – VICTORIA. You will build and lead a customer‐focused team that raises standards in delivering excellent service. This role involves leading from the front, taking initiative, and being actively involved in all aspects of branch operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day‐to‐day operations of the branch so the Branch Manager can focus on business growth.
* Co‐coach the team to deliver exceptional customer service that grows profitable relationships and fosters a proactive customer mindset.
* Oversee branch operation procedures and ensure the right disciplines and structures are in place for consistency, cost‐effectiveness and practical outcomes. Work with the team to implement continuous improvements and efficiencies (e.g., counter service, quoting and customer orders, inventory management, credit management, branch presentation, delivery service, problem‐solving, product knowledge).
* Run and analyse daily reports and work with the team to act on and follow‐up tasks.
* Support the Branch Manager with staff training and development.
* Ensure company compliance standards are followed.
Required Skills and Attributes
* Ability to build long‐term relationships with customers.
* Prior experience in a high‐volume, regular customer contact role.
* Successful and proven leadership skills.
* Ability to coach and influence team members in day‐to‐day operations.
* Ability to introduce and implement policies and procedures to meet high customer‐service standards.
* Ability to finish tasks, working with the team to achieve the 1 % improvements.
* Ability to make sound business decisions and resolve problems.
