Operations Manager | Manufacturing | Brisbane South
A well established, privately operated manufacturing business in Brisbane's southern corridor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a critical phase of operational transformation. This is a senior site leadership role with full accountability for safety, production performance, workforce capability and operational excellence.
Reporting into a senior ANZ operations executive, this role will suit a hands on leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and is comfortable driving change in long tenured workforces.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of a single site manufacturing operation with accountability for up to 50 FTE across production, warehouse and support functions. The business is investing in lifting safety standards, improving operational discipline and embedding structured performance management.
Key focus areas include safety leadership, production and delivery performance, process improvement, workforce development and systems uplift.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead site operations with a strong safety first mindset, embedding WHS compliance and best practice standards
* Drive production, planning and logistics performance to achieve outcomes
* Implement structured KPIs and performance management frameworks
* Improve process flow, efficiency and asset utilisation through continuous improvement initiatives
* Lead and develop a blue collar workforce, building capability and succession plans
* Partner with supply chain, sales and engineering stakeholders to align operations with customer demand
* Support CAPEX evaluation and delivery of equipment and process upgrades
* Act as a visible, floor based leader who coaches, mentors and sets clear expectations
About You
* 10+ years' experience in manufacturing operations, with senior leadership accountability across production and supply chain
* Proven safety leadership in industrial or manufacturing environments
* Strong background in process improvement, LEAN and operational transformation
* Experience implementing KPIs and driving data led decision making
* Comfortable leading change in environments with long tenure and resistance to change
* Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
* ERP experience essential, with exposure to system transitions viewed favourably
