The Opportunity
Are you a passionate early childhood educator who loves creating calm, engaging and nurturing environments for preschool-aged children? Rosebery OSHC is seeking a dedicated Diploma Qualified Preschool Room Lead to join our team and oversee our preschool-aged children’s program during before and after school care.
This is a permanent part time role of 20 hours minimum per week.
Key Responsibilities
As the Preschool Room Lead, you will take the lead in planning and implementing a high-quality program tailored to meet the needs of our preschool-aged children. This role combines hands‑on engagement with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that the learning workplace is safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
You’ll work closely with the OSHC Centre Manager, the Educational Leader and a small team of educators to:
- Design and deliver engaging experiences aligned with the children’s interests and developmental stages within the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Support children’s smooth transitions between preschool and OSHC routines.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.
- Lead and mentor other educators within the preschool room, ensuring consistency in practice and communication.
- Maintain a calm, nurturing environment that supports emotional regulation and wellbeing.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about early childhood education and child development.
- Confident in leading a small team and taking initiative within a dynamic OSHC environment.
- Professional, reliable and able to communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) (essential)
- Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) (essential)
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (desirable)
- Experience working with preschool-aged children (3–5 years)
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework.

- Valid Working with Children Clearance.
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
