Overview
Informatech is expanding our Technical Services Division and seeking multiple Solutions Architects to support the delivery and sustainment of critical Defence ICT environments. These are long-term, career-defining opportunities to shape secure, complex ICT environments at scale. We are recruiting for several architect positions across different technical streams. Each role will provide expert design and advisory services, develop high-level and detailed architectures, and guide the implementation of mission-critical systems within highly secure environments.
Base pay range
A$170,000.00/yr - A$215,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Design and document end-to-end infrastructure and platform solutions across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
Lead Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation initiatives.
Support build and remediation of hybrid platforms and orchestration services.
Deliver SOPs, build guides, and provide SME demonstrations/training.
Container & End-User Compute (EUC) Architect
— design scalable, secure solutions for containerised workloads on Linux-based platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker); lead modernisation of container platforms and EUC environments; define integration patterns for identity, networking, monitoring, and security components; develop SOPs and deliver SME workshops.
Network Solutions Architect
— design resilient, secure network architectures to support multi-site and hybrid cloud environments; define routing strategies using BGP, MPLS, SR-MPLS/SRv6, and traffic engineering; lead network transformation initiatives, including SDN, automation, and policy-driven segmentation; develop integration patterns for container and cloud connectivity, plus operational documentation and training.
Qualifications
Proven experience designing and implementing complex ICT solutions within Defence environments.
Strong technical knowledge across cloud services, infrastructure, networking, containerisation, automation, and security.
Ability to translate customer requirements, industry standards, and frameworks into effective architectural designs.
Hands-on experience with modern platforms and tools, including cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), automation and IaC, networking, and identity management.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and deliver demonstrations or training to technical and non-technical audiences.
Onsite work requirement: 5 days a week in Canberra.
Australian citizenship and a current NV2 clearance are required to apply for this role.
