Task & responsibilities The core responsibilities of the Irrigationist will be to: Operate our established irrigation programme. Determine and manage a comprehensive schedule of irrigation for the farm.
Determine the correct pumping systems for irrigation and implement efficiently. Work out the different hydraulic parameters for each irrigation system. Determine and use different irrigation designs for optimal use.
Supervise staff & partake when installing irrigation systems. Supervise and partake in irrigation maintenance. Qualification & experience
To qualify for further consideration, you will need to demonstrate a genuine passion for the industry, a solid, relevant, working history and the below skills and attributes: Skills & Experience: We are seeking individuals with the following qualifications, experience and attributes: A relevant AQF Cert II or equivalent plus at least 1 year recent and relevant experience OR 2 years recent and relevant, fulltime, experience (must include exposure to and/or experience in the responsibilities shown above). Experience in the responsibilities listed above. Current Driver’s License.
Sound mechanical aptitude. Ability to operate a tractor and associated equipment. Knowledge of pumping systems for irrigation.
Good problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and legislation.
Ability to work independently and contribute as a valued member of the team. Physically fit for the inherent requirements of the role. Ability to work varied hours as required.
