Commercial Contracting Lawyers - Flexible Consulting Opportunities with Ashurst Reach
Are you an in-house lawyer with strong commercial contracting experience?

We work with a pool of talented Reach Legal Consultants across a broad range of specialties and strive to engage lawyers who are technically savvy, commercially focused, and adaptable.
Responsibilities / What you will do
Provide high-quality advisory and drafting support on commercial contracts with suppliers and service providers, including areas such as property, technology, privacy and data, intellectual property, credit and financing.
Draft, negotiate, and review commercial agreements across a wide range of industries (financial services, FMCG, energy and resources, government and public sector, construction and infrastructure, education, hotels/leisure/gaming, mining, TMT, transport).
Assist with M&A activities where applicable, including integration and joint ventures; procurement experience is highly regarded.
Provide legal advice relating to competition and consumer law, privacy, product safety, quality and labeling where required for certain roles.
Support disputes and investigations where relevant (litigation, insolvency/debt recovery, regulatory investigations) and have knowledge of employment law for some roles.
Hit the ground running, work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and adapt to business needs.
Operate as a hands-on lawyer who can work on the tools and contribute directly to business outcomes.
What we're looking for
Senior stakeholder management skills
Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to interface at all levels
Strong commercial and business acumen
Excellent client service orientation, ethics, and commitment
The right to live and work in Australia and hold or be able to obtain a current practising certificate
Willingness to engage with Ashurst via an Independent Incorporated Legal Practice or casual employment
