Position Information

Middleton Public School is a K–6 school located in Parkes, NSW, with an enrolment of approximately 180 students across eight mainstream classes. Approximately 32% of our students identify as Aboriginal.

Selection Criteria
* In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary and proven expertise in leading evidence-based, explicit teaching, differentiation strategies and providing effective feedback underpinned by high expectations.
* Demonstrated experience working as part of a dynamic leadership team, strategically planning and applying evidence-based and data-informed practices to drive continuous improvement with a focus on a students across the full range of abilities and backgrounds.
* A collaborative leadership style that supports teachers to engage with and adopt explicit, evidence-based teaching methods and the use of data in literacy and numeracy to improve student learning outcomes to support initiatives in the School's Excellence Plan.
* Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative practices and foster a culture that values teamwork, underpinned by strong knowledge of curriculum and the capacity to lead teachers in effectively planning, implementing and evaluating high-quality teaching and learning programs.

General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
