We are seeking a motivated and detail‐oriented PostgreSQL Database Developer – Junior for a 3 months contract to join our growing team.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* 2+ years of hands‐on experience working with PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
* Strong foundation in SQL and relational database concepts.
Must Haves
* Hands‐on experience with PostgreSQL database development.
* Strong understanding of SQL in production environments.
* Experience in SQL performance tuning and query optimisation.
* Knowledge of developing PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, and database logic.
* Understanding of database performance, integrity, and maintainability best practices.
* Ability to work closely with application development teams.
Preferred
* Exposure to data modelling and schema design.
* Basic understanding of indexing strategies and execution plans.
* Familiarity with version control and change‐management processes.
* Good communication and documentation skills.
Role & Responsibilities
* Support, develop, and optimise PostgreSQL database workloads.
* Collaborate with development teams to design and maintain efficient data models.
* Write, review, and optimise SQL queries and PL/pgSQL code.
* Assist with database performance tuning and issue resolution.
* Ensure database integrity, consistency, and maintainability.
* Participate in troubleshooting production issues and implementing fixes.
* Maintain technical documentation related to database objects and logic.
