**About the opportunity**
Our Children and Families services offer a variety of child protection, youth justice, outreach, family intervention and family support services. We are always on the look out for suitable applicants who meet the minimum standard qualification and have relevant experience supporting others to achieve their personal goals.
**About the role**
You become the primary carer for young people during your shift. Your main role is to keep them secure, get to know them whilst teaching life skills to establish a stable consistent routine.
You work with the Coordinator and Service Manager to develop therapeutic trauma informed interventions that will assist the young person with complex issues.
A day in the role of a Residential Youth Worker will include:
- Planning, assisting and engaging in suitable activities with the young person
- Being a part of a wider team who work collaboratively to help with young person achieving their personal goals
- Promoting good hygiene and good nutrition with young person
- Completing daily case notes, admin tasks and incident reports
- Must be versatile in availability for Sleepover, weekend and awake shifts

We also require workers to have:
- Already hold a Certificate IV or higher qualification in **Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services or similar**:
- A paid Blue Card or have applied for one
- Child Safety Personal History Check (LCS2)
- Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training
- Current valid QLD driver's license (Green provisional plates or higher)
- Be able to provide 2 recent referees
- A COVID-19 vaccination requirement applies to this role - evidence of your vaccination status must be provided prior to commencing employment.
