The Opportunity
This isn’t your typical commercial litigation role! We are looking for an experienced and versatile commercial dispute resolution lawyer to join our Sydney team on a full time basis in this unique and newly created position, which has a strong commercial focus.
This opportunity represents an exciting alternative career pathway for lawyers who are looking to step away from the traditional partnership track and move into a more commercially focused leadership position. Rather than progressing through the conventional route from senior associate to partner, you will develop a broader skill set spanning legal practice, client strategy, and business development - with a clear pathway into a senior business development and commercial leadership role within LegalVision.
On a day-to-day basis, you will speak with potential clients to gain an understanding of their dispute, with the goal of:
* understanding their legal issues;
* providing initial strategic advice on how best LegalVision can help resolve their dispute;
* scoping and quoting their dispute; and
* assisting with their onboarding as a LegalVision client.
You will then work closely with the Practice Group Leader of the Disputes team to delegate ongoing work to the team and oversee the successful implementation of case strategy.
We assist with a broad range of commercial disputes and contentious matters. Some of the contentious matters we assist with include (among others):
* shareholder and directors disputes;
* general commercial contracts disputes;
* leasing, franchising, construction and employment disputes; and
* copyright and IP infringement disputes.
The Ideal Candidate
* Australian qualified lawyer with at least 4 years' PQE experience in commercial disputes in a private practice environment.
* Demonstrated experience in client relationship management, with a proven ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly and build strong client rapport.
* Assisted in advising clients on litigation strategy, assessing case merits, and supporting the preparation of cost estimates and budget forecasts.
* Excited to utilise technical legal skills in a more commercial role.
