Nurse/Midwife - 12 Month Maternity Leave Position
The practice is led by Dr Michael Allen, a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a strong bias in Fertility medicine who operates at both St. John of God Hospital Subiaco and Hollywood Genea Fertility Centre.
The practice is involved in the care of obstetric patients throughout their antenatal and postnatal course, support of patients who have been diagnosed with sub-fertility and the medical and surgical management of general gynaecological presentations.
About the role
* Assist in the planning and delivery of excellent Nursing and Midwifery care within the practice (two other midwifery staff and practice manager).
* Provide safe and contemporary care for antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology patients.
* Provide antenatal education/information to patients specific to their intended hospital for delivery.
* Ensure treatment orders are implemented and documented accordingly within Genie Practice Software.
* Organise team and individual workloads, prioritise and delegate if needed.
* Assist in office-based gynaecological procedures.
* Provide vaccinations (as per the NHMRC guidelines).
* Triage phone calls from antenatal and gynaecological patients.

Skills and experience
* Registered Nurse/Midwife status with AHPRA.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a clinic or hospital setting.
* Demonstrated skills and clinical knowledge working in a Maternity Department.
* Ability to use/learn practice management software (Genie).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Caring and collaborative approach to patient care.
* Pleasant and professional manner with patients and co-workers.
* Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
* Ability to work well within a team and prioritise workload accordingly.
* Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
