About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee local logistics and management of a new National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) project on strongyloidiasis, the Strongyloidiasis Elimination Research Program.
The key to this role will be frequent travel to, and engaging with Indigenous communities and particularly remote communities in the Northern Territory, to build, strengthen and expand partnerships and collaborations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences, stakeholders, and internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Frequent travel to Indigenous communities and remote areas in the Northern Territory to build and maintain partnerships and collaborations
* Manage multiple components of the Strongyloidiasis Elimination Research Program through the full project life-cycle, ensuring that methodologies, standards and processes are adhered to, and that project outcomes are delivered within agreed timeframes, scope and budget
* Liaise with stakeholders and community members, working in partnership with employees of Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation
* Assist the Project Coordinator in all aspects of the project, including development of study protocols and SOPs, ethics applications, training and oversight of fieldwork, analyses of data, drafting of reports and manuscripts
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in public health or a related field; or extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
* Demonstrated knowledge and skills in project management techniques, tools and methodologies, covering all phases of the project life cycle
* Evidence of authentic collaboration with Indigenous communities
* Substantial interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders in diverse cultural contexts
* Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills, including ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences
