We are seeking a talented and driven Production Engineering Manager to join our growing Operations team. Reporting to the General Manager of Manufacturing you will be responsible for managing, directing and developing the Production Engineering group (formerly Process Engineering) within Walkinshaw Manufacturing. You will be responsible for driving manufacturing innovation, continuous improvement, best‐practice production systems, and major project execution across Walkinshaw Manufacturing.

What you'll be doing
* Setting the strategic direction for the function
* Championing innovation in manufacturing processes
* Leading continuous improvement and lean/best‐practice initiatives
* Coaching, mentoring and developing a team of engineers and technical support employees
* Overseeing high‐impact Manufacturing projects from concept through to implementation
* New model and model year changes
* New program startups
This role is hands‐on yet strategic - success depends on technical depth, people leadership, and the ability to deliver results in a fast‐paced, cross‐functional environment.
What we're looking for
* A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Production, or related Engineering discipline
* 8 - 15+ years of experience in OE Australian vehicle manufacturing/production engineering roles, with progressive responsibility
* Deep expertise in automotive manufacturing processes (vehicle assembly, lean manufacturing, TPM)
* Understanding of automotive quality standards (ISO19001 and COP, safety, and regulatory compliance)
* Proven leadership and people management (motivating teams in fast‐paced, high‐pressure environments)
* Strong project management and change leadership
* Excellent problem‐solving, analytical, and data‐driven decision‐making
* Cross‐functional collaboration (with design, quality, supply chain, production ops)
* Commercial acumen (cost control, capex justification, budgeting)
