Legal Counsel Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our business operations.
The role involves working closely with our stakeholders to identify and manage legal risks, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and providing guidance on compliance matters. A key focus of the role is to provide high-quality legal advice that supports business outcomes while minimizing risk.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in law from an Australian tertiary institution or equivalent overseas qualification. You must also be admitted as a legal practitioner of the High Court or Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory and eligible for a practising certificate issued by the Law Society of the ACT or in your state or territory of residence.
You will also need to have experience in one or more areas of law relevant to in-house government practice such as administrative law, regulatory law, commercial law, information and privacy law or litigation. Experience in complex problem solving and providing concise legal advice that provides practical solutions and options and differentiates between legal requirements and legal risk is also essential.
A strong understanding of business operations and the ability to work collaboratively in a legal team are also required. The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships using outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
