Combine your passions of social media, video creation, audience development and travel content. Build travel engagement and foster audience growth through social media and video content. Inform, engage and entertain a variety of audiences through multiple channels.
What's the role?
Reporting to the Digital Editor you will:
* Ensure our social media channels capture the passion of our audience and that our content speaks to them and suits the platforms they are using.
* Utilise social platforms to share, source and interact daily with our audiences, striking the balance between content that informs, educates, entertains, and creates conversation while managing deadlines and KPIs.
* Drive the best social and video travel coverage in the country – the role requires a game‑changer.
* Take responsibility for all of our social media accounts and drive our editorial video production pipeline for onsite and social media channels, providing best practices, growth strategies, and innovative platform use.
* Introduce emerging platforms, trends and new tools, and produce original concepts alongside content from the country's best travel journalists, photographers and videographers.
* Implement new and innovative ways to increase our social media and video footprint, continually exploring new customer trends in social communication and interaction.
* Share social and video data with the Escape and wider travel teams on a regular basis.
Who are you?
* Ideally, you have three to five years of industry experience in a similar social media and video‑led role, with travel media experience preferred.
* Travel and social media/video are your passions; you are the go‑to person for tactics that increase reach, engagement and referrals.
* You are data‑led, fluent in analytics, and know how to implement strategies based on data.
* You are familiar with TikTok, Instagram Reels, Pinterest, YouTube and emerging platforms, and understand what it takes to get a reaction.
* You stay on top of the latest platforms, tools and social technology developments that enable us to engage readers and achieve business goals.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; design and video editing skills are highly desirable.
* From highly engaging videos to direct audience conversation, you know when to have a light touch and when to be serious.
* You are a strong communicator, able to work with multiple stakeholders across marketing, editorial and product teams.
* You take initiative, manage strict deadlines and can work independently.
