As the Manager of our Fund Accounting team, you will be responsible to manage the delivery of fund accounting services for superannuation funds administered by lress ensuring all tasks outlined in the Administration Agreements are delivered in line with agreed SLA levels and internal policies. Ensuring that the services delivered are efficient andpliant. Representing the superannuation administration offering with a particular focus on fund accounting services in relation to new business and growth opportunities.
Some of the awesome things you'll be involved with:
1. Risk controls - ensure the security of the general ledger and the integrity of audit trails. Establish and maintain effective accounting controls and systems within the realm of normal operations
2. Reconciliations - timely and accurate reconciliations of cash at bank, investments, expense recovery, and other relevant balance sheets items
3. Accounts - accrue and pay all fees, insurance,missions and expense recovery payments as they fall due. Calculations and payments must meet Fund PDS standards, and to be paid within the timeframe specified in the applicable supplier agreement
4. Unit pricing - manage unit pricing that is provided. Review of the cash flows and daily investment instructions to investment managers and custodians within service level standards
5. Month end reporting -plete month end processes and trustee reporting packs
6. Financial reporting - coordinate financial year end planning with other stakeholders. Agreed stage deadlines must be delivered on time and in full. All work to meet legal, professional and ethical standards
7. APRA reporting - preparation of all APRA reporting with the regulatory authorities
8. Taxation - ensurepliance with relevant taxation legislation, including the deduction, reporting, and payment of PAYG, GST, CGT, and Ie Tax
9. Training - to develop and maintain the required skill set within the fund accounting team, focusing on continual improvement through innovation and efficiency
10. Projects - undertake designated projects including the management of new superannuation fund clients and general ledger migration
11. Other duties - undertake ad-hoc projects as directed by the Head of Fund Accounting, ensuring professional standards and timelypletion.
What you will bring:
12. Over 5 years experience in a fund administration environment or similar industry
13. Formal qualifications in accounting eg CPA, CA
14. In-depth knowledge of superannuation and investment markets
15. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams
16. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fund accounting/reporting within a superannuation environment
17. A keen eye for detail, enquiring mind and a desire to deliver best practice services
18. Effectivemunicator with the ability to conveyplex ideas
19. Strong organisation skills - ability to manage own time, work independently, meet deadlines, and plan for future work, considering immediate and long term organisational goals
20. Proficient problem solving skills and analytical thinking
