Please note: This will initially be a fixed-term day shift role for 24 months, with the requirement to be available on call for any afterhours breakdowns.
**Key responsibilities**
- Ensuring that the plant and all machinery/equipment is working to 100% to maximise throughput and efficiency.
- Diligently conducting planned maintenance inspections and successfully completing preventative maintenance activities.
- Recommending enhancements to optimise maintenance processes through a continuous improvement mindset.
- Effectively guiding and collaborating with others as needed to optimise resource utilisation and minimise any potential losses caused by downtime.
- Support of the day-to-day production team to achieve performance targets by leveraging your expertise and experience to swiftly identify and rectify faults, even under demanding circumstances.
- Engage in problem-solving activities, utilising tools such as the 5 WHYs technique, to effectively identify and eliminate root causes when issues arise.
- Collaborating closely with the maintenance manager and maintenance planners to proactively address and resolve safety-related issues and risks concerning the plant and equipment, while also ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues, including the use of correct PPE, conducting pre-task risk assessments, and ensuring accurate reporting of safety incident/injuries.
**About You**
- You are a trade qualified fitter.
- You have demonstrated your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the FMCG sector (experience in food/beverage industry is highly valued).
- Stainless steel tig-welding experience highly regarded.
- You have a strong commitment to safety, ensuring the well-being of both yourself, and your team by adhering to processes and guidelines.
- You possess meticulous attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high quality standards.
- You have a problem-solving mindset, capable of making decisions and thinking creatively to offer innovative solutions.
- You have a track record of being adaptable and flexible, able to embrace change and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
