Senior Tax Accountant – Business Services Location: West Perth
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our established and growing business services firm. This role suits a capable SME accountant who enjoys client‐facing work and is looking for long‐term career progression, with the opportunity to grow into leadership and potential future equity.
The Role
Reporting directly to the owner, you will manage your own portfolio of SME clients and play a key role in delivering high‐quality tax and compliance services. You'll have autonomy in how your work is managed, along with support when you need it.
This position would particularly suit someone with aspirations of one day owning or part‐owning their own accounting or tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns
* Tax compliance and advisory services for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
* Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a diverse range of industries
* Client meetings and relationship management
* Mentoring and reviewing work of junior accountants
* Liaison with the ATO and other stakeholders
* Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and add value
About You
* CA or CPA qualified, or in the final stages of completion
* Ideally 5+ years' experience in business services / SME tax
* Candidates with 4+ years' experience will be considered if they are the right fit
* Strong technical tax knowledge and attention to detail
* Experience with Xero Practice Manager (highly desirable)
* Confident communicator with a professional, client‐focused approach
* Proactive, reliable, and commercially minded
