ABOUT THE COMPANY.
Based in Northern Sydney, work for your Local Council as a WHS Officer. You role will be to play a vital role in the development, implementation and maintenance of Council's health and safety programs.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
Immediate start for an initial 3-month contract with the opportunity to apply for a permanent position. You will work closely with the leaders across Council and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with WHS regulations and to further promote a safe, healthy and compliant work environment. This role is predominately office-based alongside your immediate team, as opposed to site-based, due to the nature of the position having heavy involvement in systems and strategies.
DUTIES.
* Provide advice on WHS policies, procedures and legislation
* Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits
* Develop and deliver WHS training
* Support the implementation of WHS initiatives and safety programs
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
* Cert IV in WHS or extensive experience in the WHS field
* Experience working in Local Council and/or Government preferred
* A high level of task prioritisation and time management skills
* High level of maturity and communication skills
REMUNERATION.
Permanent Salary:$90,000 - $105,000 + Superannuation
Temporary role: $60 - $70 p/h + Superannuation
CULTURE.
Work alongside another WHS Officer to assist you in your day-to-day duties. You will take responsibility over the WHS function for Council and work closely with the Infrastructure Services team.
