About us

We're a rapidly scaling, not-for-profit disability support provider that believes in positively transforming the lives of people with disability. In doing so, we aim to create the highest quality agency we can, ideally reshaping the sector as a whole.

This means we often do things differently. Since we began in 2015, we've made it our mission to examine every part of what a support provider does – from how we structure our teams, to how we recruit and roster, to how we ensure the highest quality support, to how technology acts as an enabler for all that we do.

Our clients tell us they notice this difference, and for many it's had a profound impact on their lives. Supporting more than 250 clients across metropolitan and regional Victoria and only continuing to grow, we want the people who join us to also believe disability support should enable a life of independence and dignity.

To do a great job, you'll need:

- Two or more years of experience in mental health and behaviours of concern

- Good judgement and common sense, listening skills, a willingness to learn and a commitment to our values

- Experience in personal care (showering and dressing) assistance with domestic duties

- Experience supporting people with a physical disability including transfers/use of equipment and confidence in hoisting

- Experience with catheter care, peg feeding, and bowel care would be an advantage but not essential

- Experience in seizure management (midazolam trained) would be an advantage but not essential

- Have great patience and be willing to put in the time and energy to build rapport with your client

- Enthusiasm and passion for supporting people with disabilities to live great lives.

- Commitment to working with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals. For example, supporting our clients to complete a regular physiotherapy program

- Full drivers licence and be willing and comfortable with providing transport in your own vehicle sometimes (we reimburse you for costs)

- Willing to work varied shifts with varied hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends together with some short shifts, sleepovers and active night shifts. We also need you to be able to commit to ongoing shifts, based on your availability.

Please note - when you apply you will receive an email asking you for some further details - please look out for it

As part of our recruitment process, certain checks will be undertaken with your permission, including an NDIS Worker Screening Check that you must have before you can start work.

We encourage all of our staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and current recommendations about vaccination can be found on ATAGI website.

InLife is committed to ensuring the rights, safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. We have a zero tolerance of child abuse and every InLife employee has a responsibility to make sure all children and young people are safe and feel safe.

Benefits

- We offer great pay, generous benefits and a supportive team culture

- You can also access salary packaging (can mean extra take-home pay)

- Opportunity for career progression - a clear career path for assistants who want to progress into team leader or coordinator roles

A word about diversity and inclusion

At InLife, diversity and inclusion is part of our DNA. We celebrate the amazing differences we all bring to our work and we actively ensure that everyone feels safe and supported in our workplaces.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone and our hiring decisions will never be based on things such as your gender identity, disability, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or cultural background - because they simply aren't relevant to doing an awesome job (and you are protected from this kind of discrimination under Australian law)

We also know that we continue to learn more about inclusion every day, so if there is something you think we could do differently to make InLife a place you could picture yourself working, we're all ears.
