This is a newly created role for someone who can both operate at a strategic level and roll up their sleeves to get things done.
The opportunity
Reporting into the Director - Operations, you'll take ownership of AFL's commercial and contractual frameworks, ensuring deals are structured smartly and risks are understood. You'll work closely with all areas of the business, bringing a pragmatic and commercial lens across customer contracts, pricing, and governance.
Importantly, this is not a purely advisory role. We're looking for someone hands‐on and comfortable working directly across deals when needed.
What you'll be responsible for
* Owning and evolving AFL's commercial and contract management framework and drive the development of all systems and tools
* Leading contract negotiations with customers and key partners
* Providing commercial advice across sales opportunities, pricing structures and deal risk
* Ensuring contracts are fit‐for‐purpose, compliant, and aligned to business objectives
* Driving continuous improvement across commercial processes, systems and documentation
* Developing contemporary data driven insights to inform strategic decision making
What you'll bring
* Strong experience in commercial and contract management at both the strategic and operational level, ideally within the telecommunications or fibre optics industries
* Confidence negotiating complex contracts and translating risk into plain English
* Experience using Power BI to develop contemporary reporting, dashboards and insights, and providing evidence‐based commercial insights
* A collaborative, pragmatic approach, with strong stakeholder and influencing skills
* Experience leading and developing others, with a calm and considered leadership style
* Comfortable working in a fast‐paced, evolving environment where priorities can shift
