About Our Centre
At our centre, we're passionate about educating children to know the importance and benefits of healthy choices and nutritious meals. We are a 75-place centre now on the lookout for our next chef to join our fun-loving team.
* This role enables you to play an active part in creating healthy menus that cater to the diverse needs of our children.
* You'll have access to a national network of centre chefs who regularly share recipes, questions, ideas, and tips to help you grow professionally.
* You'll also be encouraged to utilise the amazing feed Australia program – a free program enabling cooks to plan, budget, and access healthy menus that support children's growth and development while in childcare.
About You
We're looking for an efficient and capable chef who can prepare, implement, and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages.
* Able to prepare bulk meal quantities, manage inventory, and control food costs.
* Experienced in managing food safety and hygiene regulations and standards.
* Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary needs, and preferences.
* Keen to participate in early educational opportunities by sharing in lessons and family events.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A Current Food Safety and Handling Certificate.
* A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (desired).
* Experience in an early childhood setting.
* Reliable transportation to and from our centre.
* A Current First Aid Certificate, including asthma and anaphylactic training, and resuscitation certification.
