We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join our finance team.
You'll report to the Finance Manager and run a small team of four across AP, AR, Purchasing and Administration.
You will play an important part in keeping the accounts function running smoothly by coordinating daily workflows and being the key point of support for the team.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on role where accuracy, consistency and reliability are essential. Your primary responsibilities will be weekly payroll, accounts processing, and providing support across general bookkeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
* Process weekly payroll accurately and on time
* Review timesheets and resolve discrepancies
* Maintain payroll records and employee data
* Assist with onboarding paperwork and employee record updates
* Handle PAYG, STP, superannuation, payroll tax and year‑end processes
Accounts Receivable
* Invoicing, receipting, customer follow‑ups
* Petty cash & card reconciliations
Accounts Payable
* Invoice entry
* Supplier reconciliations & remittance preparation
Finance Assistance
* Assist the Finance Manager with month‑end journals, adjustments & intercompany entries
Purchasing Backup
* Provide purchasing backup when required
Team Coordination
* Work closely with the AP, AR, Purchasing and Admin team to ensure smooth daily workflow
* Help prioritise tasks and maintain visibility of deadlines
* Act as a key "go‑to" support person for accounts‑related questions
* Keep communication flowing between team members and the Finance Manager
Administration
* General office administration as needed
* Staff events coordination
About You
* 3–5+ years' experience in similar role
* Competent across AP, AR and general ledger basics
* Strong payroll knowledge
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Confident communicating with internal teams and suppliers
* Enjoys being part of a hardworking, supportive office environment
* Experience in manufacturing, trades or construction is helpful but not essential
