Add expected salary to your profile for insights. In order to service our existing long term contracts and local work, an chance is available for an experienced Crane Technician to increase our Maintenance Team to perform work on our ever fleet of Tower Cranes.
This position is based in Chipping Norton NSW. The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate attendance of multiple courses of the main crane manufactures (OEM) and component suppliers.
Requirements:
- Electrical Licence
- Current Drivers licence
- Sound technical understanding of Cranes or similar equipment
- Experience with similar heavy equipment will be considered in place of specific crane experience
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on your own
- Effective leadership skills
- Preferred but not essential: training can be provided
- Experience of High Risk Work Licence – Dogman (DG), Basic Rigging (RB) as minimum
- Work safely at heights
- Heights Rescue certification
- At least 3 years of similar employment is preferred, with a minimum of 2 years demonstrable industry experience in maintenance.
Duties:
- Attending to breakdowns for Tower Cranes – Terex Comedil, Moritsch, FM Gru, Raimondi, XCMG, Jarlway & Yongmao;
- Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections & maintenance as required;
- Trouble shooting errors on the various crane brands and models – Hammerhead, Luffing & Flat Top;
- Programming/coding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) both in the field and offsite using software via direct link connection to PLC;
- Frequency programming & testing of Tower Crane Remote control systems;
- Programming of Tower Crane working limits as per Manufacturers & Engineers specification – Trolley, load, luff;
- Read and understand Manufacturer wiring diagrams
- Experience with diagnostic software;
- Inspection of rope, hook & chain assemblies attached to the trolley and report/remove from service any components that are damaged or not safe for use;
- Visual inspection of Tower Crane components, including tower sections, slewing unit, jib, trolley and machinery arm and drivers cab;
- Complete On Ground inspections of Tower Cranes prior to installation;
- Conduct visual inspections, condition reports and rectification orders of Tower Cranes once dismantled and returned to the depot;
- Programming of 2-way radios on licensed frequencies;
- Tower Crane Climbing using top climber and external & internal climbing frames;
- Refurbishment of Tower Cranes;
- Assessing Tower Crane motors in the field in case of issues to deem whether motor can be repaired in situ or must be removed;
- Safe removal of motors where they cannot be repaired on site to ensure no damage is done to other components;
- Re-installation of motors once repaired and returned to site, ensuring the correct installation procedure is followed and testing undertaken to ensure no further issues;
- Delivery of motors to 3rd party repairers;
- Liaising with Crane manufacturers, parts manufacturers, Builders, other Crane companies and crane crew;
- Must be well organized and show effective time management skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks;
- Must be safety conscious with the ability to promote a safe environment;
- Must be available to work overtime and travel to interstate sites when required;
