About the role
We are looking for a 2 year fixed term contract role for Specialist OT Engineer to join our team to support and enhance the operation of complex water and wastewater treatment plants. The position is based in the Perth Metro with requirement for regular travel to regional Western Australia. As a specialist OT engineer you will provide support to cross discipline engineering and operational teams to focus on short and long-term improvements to operational plant performance. What the role will involve
* Provide expert OT support to operational and engineering teams across metro and regional sites.
* Lead short- and long-term improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance and reliability.
* Work hands-on with SCADA, PLCs, telemetry, and industrial networks in real-world environments.
* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
* Travel regularly to regional WA to support on-site diagnostics, upgrades, and commissioning.
Key skills and experience
* Excellent engagement skills with the ability to collaborate with engineering and operational staff to optimise operational asset performance.
* Proficiency in all aspects of Operational Technology delivery including design, configuration, commissioning and operational optimisation.
* Proficiency with major OT platforms with experience in Schneider, and Siemens S7 or TIA portal highly regarded.
* Strong ability in engineering documentation and change management.
* Willingness to travel regularly to regional Western Australia to support onsite optimisation of water and wastewater treatment processes.
* Able to relate process optimisation to business drivers to ensure results are measurable and relevant to the business.
* Experience working with engineering and operational stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions.
* Experience in alarm management practices based on ISA 18.2.
