This is a permanent full-time position commencing February 2026
The Organisational Design Branch sits within the People Services Division and is responsible for the design and governance of the Department's organisational architecture. The Branch ensures resources are structured and allocated effectively, supporting alignment with the Department's strategic priorities and enabling delivery of outcomes for Western Australian students.
Working in close partnership with schools and business areas, the Branch provides expert advice on organisational design, workforce structure and capability. It supports informed decision-making through evidence-based design approaches and contributes to building a sustainable, capable and future-focused workforce.
The Role
The role provides strategic leadership and expert advice on workforce organisational design to senior executives, supporting alignment with the Department's strategic objectives. It contributes to strategic planning and human resource policy development. The role leads the delivery of high-quality organisational design services across schools and central and regional services. This includes oversight of structural change, establishment and job design, classification assessments and implementation support.
The role has responsibility for program, project and governance functions related to organisational design, including coordination of the Classification Review Committee and oversight of complex reviews and audits. It leads research, analysis and implementation of organisational design strategies and initiatives, ensuring change impacts are effectively managed, risks are mitigated, and productivity, people and culture outcomes are sustained across the organisation.
