Right now, we're looking for a Guardian to join a dedicated team delivering Guardianship services across New South Wales on a contract role. This is more than a role - it's a chance to use your experience in Case Management or Social Work to really make a difference. You'll advocate for the rights and wellbeing of people with disabilities, influence systems for better outcomes, and provide guidance and support in a meaningful and rewarding field. About the Role As a Guardian, you'll be supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. You'll manage guardianship matters, make decisions in line with legislation, and mentor staff - all while acting with empathy, integrity, and respect. You can be based in Wollongong, Gosford, Newcastle, Sydney, or Parramatta, and a hybrid working model may be available depending on your experience. What You'll Be Doing Develop and implement decision-making plans that support the best outcomes for people under guardianship Prepare reports, submissions, and recommendations for senior officers, NCAT, and the Public Guardian Make decisions using your delegated authority in line with legislation and organisational standards Supervise and support Guardians and support staff, approving reports and providing advice Work closely with families, carers, medical professionals, and service providers on complex cases Conduct visits to understand local services and community supports Engage in systemic advocacy to improve guardianship services What You'll Bring Experience in Case Management, Social Work, disability services, or a related field A solid understanding of the Guardianship Act and principles of supported decision-making Strong analytical, reporting, and case management skills Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and compassionately with a variety of stakeholders Confidence in guiding others through complex and sensitive situations Why Join This Team?
