Residential Support Worker
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote and assist young people to achieve goals identified in Individual Case Plans
* Assist young people to develop independence and build community networks
* Support the young person's interests
* Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with young people to achieve positive outcomes
* Manage behavioural escalations and assist the young person to co-regulate emotionally
* Domestic duties and supporting the young person to learn how to look after themselves (e.g., cooking, housework, laundry)
* Communicate with the care team and report incidents promptly and accurately
* Medication administration (when required)
* Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping
As a Residential Support Worker, you will possess prior experience working with children and young people, as well as a comprehensive understanding of childhood trauma and its impacts.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Diploma/Certificate III in Community Services or related field
* Experience: 1+ years working with children and young people in residential care settings
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to delivering high-quality support services
